Re: Sarah 41
I kept my floor level all the way from frame 9 through to frame 2 and all my under floor chambers are fibre glassed and fully sealed with the intention they are water tight compartments. there are no common limber holes through any bulkheads. only inspection point is above transducer fwd of the min...

Inspiration
Hello everyone. Just an observation. The site activity is spartan lately. Remember the saying “use it or lose it”. And although launched, my boat is miles off finished. It’s cold here in winter, how about a thread dedicated to pics that inspire us building to finish? I don’t have exotic location pic...

Re: Schionning 12.3
Hello everyone. Have been super lazy (and still skint) the last few months. Will hopefully get started on all the unfinished internal work soon. Also hope to get out on her and do some whale watching off Swansea. I took some photos last weekend to update my blog on how high she still rides and googl...

Re: Piston Broke
I reckon 30-40 % of my build time was on cosmetic (my word for fairing/painting) stuff too. But I wouldnt say cost though. As little as 10-15 % of cost is my guess. Its hard for me to be accurate because some of the build I faired as I went. But I searched back through my blog and I was fairing only...

Re: SSL Domain
Hi guys I think you may have an issue with your ssl certificate or something to do with the security of the sight. Upon login a safety warning page pops up. Advanced allows you to proceed to the sight but some might not access the sight fearing viruses. Cheers Paul

Re: Schionning 12.3
Hi Sean, interesting that you mentioned the nose heavy. I too was concerned about that as 3 or 4 launched a little nose down. So I thought mine would too and I could disguise it a little by raising my anti foul line just at the bow tapering down to about half way. And my first thought on looking at ...

Re: Schionning 12.3
I had a message from another builder that she floats quite high and I was also surprised at how much anti foul is visible. In fact I fitted an underwater light in each hull one is 100mm above the other just at the surface. I also have a black water out skin fitting about 100mm above that I had inten...

Re: Schionning 12.3
I have 2007 Yamaha 9.9 high thrusts. My guesstimate on usage was not scientific and on reflection perhaps closer to 3 litres per hour (24l tanks not full to top, after 7 hrs topped up and were not yet empty and topped up about 1/4 tank each). I refueled the tanks underway so did not accurately measu...

Re: Schionning 12.3
Thanks Allen for a while I am taking your advice and am leaving it a power cat albeit a 20hp power cat. We maintained 6 knots for most of the way (8 hours) on a little over half throttle, both motors, into 10 knot breeze and 2 meter swell and we used about 2 litres per hour per motor. Quite happy wi...

Re: Schionning 12.3
Happy Australia/invasion Day. Launched Wednesday and motored around Brisbane Waters for the day to be sure we were comfortable we could motor the 8 hours from Gosford to home at Wyee on Lake Macquarie. http://i68.tinypic.com/25grkhl.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/32zuj48.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/i5wuw...
