Re: Piston Broke

I saw a sailing Cat the other day ,and the ceiling of the cockpit had been painted a darkish colour to reduce glare. Has anyone heard of this before , and does it work ,and is it necessary ? Dazza Don't know the answer about the dark colour but have you considered simply adding a deglossing agent (...

Re: Mainsail single line reefing.

What did you end up deciding? I haven't decided yet but I have made the exit boxes at the mast end of the boom to take either option. Having said that, I am leaning to the tried and trusted slab. One thing I did bite the bullet on was to convert one of the primary winches to electric and will use t...

Re: Finally Does It

Looks Awesome David!! I see you have the most important feature of the boom. That being the cradle on the cabin roof to park it in! Got any new pics for us? Mick Thanks Mick Stole the cradle idea from your photos (surprise surprise). Do you have a strip of rubber / foam glued in your cradle to prot...

Good work....

Re: Laminating hardtop

A few observations.... I would glass both sides before fairing to highbuild. I tried to do as you proposed - didn't work. Things just "moved" too much. How do you intend to butt join the sheets so they don't move while laminating? Inside a timber frame (covered in packing tape) or use a hot glue gun...

Re: Finally Does It

OK, it's been a little while so I'll update on what I have been up to. Boom has been faired and is now in finish primer. To be sanded one more time prior to topcoat. 777 Boom Faired and Microsurfaced 2.jpg 776 Boom Faired and Microsurfaced 1.jpg Setup a line system in the shelter to paint all the pa...

Now you're just making me jealous. That's 2 years in a row you've had dead flat conditions like that.

Beautiful weather to be out on the outer reef. Enjoy it while you can.

Re: SV
