Oh yeah I completely forgot that in order to register a new boat you simply tell them its dimensions and load carrying ability and then just pay the annual fee and they do not inspect the vessel at any stage. In NSW a "boat code" plate is attached by an authorised agent, but this is more a security ...

Terryk and I use the same insurance, Edward Williams via DG Marine. No problem being home builders. I still have building insurance but Terry had no problems converting at launch.

Almost finished fairing, depending on what standard I settle on. Areas under non slip will be to a lesser standard than areas that end up glossy. Anyone else been having trouble accessing site in last few days. I had to ring my service provider, they reset me at the exchange and I can now access on home network, on my pc but the phone on the same wifi network still no access, but on 4g on same phone no problem. Wierd.

I went down exactly the same path. Besides hating the smell of diesel, it makes me seasick, I ruled out inboards for many reasons including internal space, lack of another place that might one day leak, but also because retro fitting electric at some future point seemed more difficult with inboards....
