Re: Micks Spirited 480

Thanks David. I have watched it a few times. There is a small power boat in some shots and I suspected it was the drone control craft. Drone prices are coming down fast but you still need $1000 for a decent one and was considering if it would be worthwhile owning one in future.

Yeah Mick, any chance you can let us know the details of the drone, is it yours, what brand, etc.

Re: Zen and the Art of Home Boat Building

What's the wings poking out just in front of the companionway bulkhead Paul? Guessing mid boom traveller but your going Bi aren't you? They are my sheeting points for each boom. I could not sheet directly to the deck because when the boom swings over the cabin (on either tack) the sheet would rub o...

Matt, You wont believe it, but I couldnt stand it and fixed the pointier nose. It really is addictive this boat beauty stuff. http://i65.tinypic.com/4v1fkj.jpg I have sanded both my hull sides (the flat bits between the chine and the join line to the curved deck side panel [the string line in the pi...

Re: finally up the right way

Seems a few years and posts have been skipped here, and Terry has launched and last Tuesday the mast was stepped. I took a few pics so here they are. http://i68.tinypic.com/149xuah.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/293hwns.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/2ljowf9.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/smayo8.jpg http://i64....

Re: sarah sail drive

Yep, pretty much convinced me. My stepson is learning to spray paint at Tafe but I might just roll on like this. I certainly will roll on in the bathrooms and the few areas inside I am not lining. You ought to get a kickback for the business you will generate for them!

Great job, congrats.

Re: Zen and the Art of Home Boat Building

Thanks Gerald, Perfect, the more I see of your rig the more I like it. Did you adapt your rig from existing plans or make plans as you designed it and figured it all out? How were the masts constructed? In other words, could another set be easily made now that you have done the hard yards for them o...
