Re: Micks Spirited 480

Thanks for posting details Mick. No doubt will help others down the track, when you are out enjoying your hard work. Happy sanding.

Re: Do You Tweak?

OK I see what you mean. So your normal sheeting angle is fixed, but the extra line allows you to use the two sheets to extend the angles out to the edge of the boat or any angle in between. On a smaller sail something that a track might assist with, but giving wider angles. Took a screenshot, here l...

Re: Window Tinting

FYI just around the point of Visible light transmission on tinting, the visible light transmission is not a measure of how effective the window will be at preventing heat gain. U-value and SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) are the ones used in glazing. From my understanding U-value is like the heat...

Cruising Catamarans and Apparent Wind

Ok so after spending a lot of time on the AC YouTube channel, I think I actually learnt something, but I wanted to check if it applies to any cat and not just racing machines. So all my catamaran sailing was beach cats in the early 90's, where I was the only person in the school club on a cat (Maric...

Re: MV catapult

Awesome, exactly answers the question of whether the grid scored was still lighter than hand laid. So more so for heavier components, but maybe something like furniture the grid scored becomes line ball if still a foam core and not honeycomb.

Re: MV catapult

Groper,
Have you got a weight comparison back to hand panels? Saw you mentioned the groove cut foam with resin in grooves was 400g/m2 heavier than normal foam, wondering how that compares to the same on hand laid panel, if you have done any?
