Re: Considering a Spirited 480 new build

My opinion: 1 - Build the boat to be the best sailing vessel you can and focus your time and money there first. Wind Energy. 2 - Your auxiliary propulsion system should be thought of the same way as you would a safety system. Simple, safe and reliable. 2.1 - Electric system sounds great but unless i...

Mike Good to see you pop up again. No good re your health and $/people issues... Thanks for your help and advice on my build. Your realistic approach was really reassuring. When everyone seems to make things more complicated and difficult you have a way of explaining your solutions that make them so...

We decided to change the rudder foils after consistent feedback from many owners of similar boats from a range of designers. We increased overall size (30% deeper and 30% larger surface area) for better offshore...

Re: Micks Spirited 480

Thanks Matt, top speed is up to 22.4kts We are not ever even hunting speeds really it just runs so well on waves. Don't think we need a screecher/code 0 but would want a kite to go deep angles in 5-15 knots

Re: Micks Spirited 480

Boat is back in St. Helens. Andy and Liss got in this morning. I got off a week ago at Beauty Point to go back to work. We are all back to work for a few months to save up for doing a pacific trip later in the year. Tassie lap was all time. I think we will sail for a long time before we top it. Mick

Re: Micks Spirited 480

Hi All Sorry slow replies. We have just got home from our Tassie lap and back into internet reception etc. Re the drone stuff. Ethan is a young guy (real young like 14) who is just getting started in the biz but as you can see from the footage he has it down already. His drone is a Phantom 3 Advance...
