Cover is staying on - Debbie is too far south to affect Cairns. Now to undo everything I did yesterday to get the cover ready for removal.

I feel sorry for those in Debbie's path. By the looks, Ayr / Home Hill are going to cop it. Cat 4 is a serious storm.

As a consequence of the size of TC Debbie there was a severe weather warning yesterday for Cairns for katabatic winds in excess of 90kph.

I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I decided to remove the cover over the shelter. This cover has been out in the tropical elements for 5 years and I wasn't too sure how it would stand up to 90+ kph winds.

A waste of time in the end as the warning was cancelled that night.

Nevertheless it gave me a chance to see the boat from a wider perspective and, of course, take photos. Here is a small selection.

Nice to get a proper look at the boat David but a pity you had to go to the trouble of removing the cover... Still, better to be safe than sorry I guess.
I'm waiting on word about how my charter boat fared at Able Point Marina. I'm hoping no news is good news! :)

Hope so Mike! We've got friends there, and the battering the marina copped was phenomenal.

Hi David

Your boat is looking great .How many coats of high build have you done so far ?

And what grade sand paper did you use on the high build ?

Looks like its ready for top coat.
