Looks good. I wish I had done that! Never even thought of it.

Port hull sanded to highbuild stage and wetted down to see what it will look like.

Finally...great job. Love the boom which I also have plans to build, however in much cooler conditions than you had to deal with! Bravo to you.

You should print and frame this photo. Here's what I see. A bulging forearm from endless hours of bogging and sanding, dust from all sorts of material all over you from being hands on with your build. The reflection of the hull is beautiful and the look on your face captures the essence of what it means to spend the amount of time it takes to make a quality product. The beer, well that's a bonus!! :D
Thanks for the motivation and I'm heading out to the shop to do boat work. :)

Cheers, Dean

Don't let Rus near your fence David he will want to Spray that too!!!

Looks epic. Put a clear wrap on the whole side as soon as its painted as its going to be so shiny every little dull patch from fenders whatever will stand out like dogs balls!!!

The flare above the water line is real nice too!

Thanks Mick

The "flare", which is well above waterline, adds a huge amount of volume to the inside of the hulls and yet keeps the wetted area relatively lean. It's been an absolute pain to fair as it changes shape along the full length of the hull from nothing at the bow to a very distinct knuckle midships back to virtually nothing at the stern. Not as aggressive as the Chamberlains but very effective when it comes to increased interior volume.

The end result is a 12 metre boat with 7.45 metre maximum beam.

We've been having a little trouble with paint flashing off quickly in this tropical heat so we had a go at cooling the base before mixing.

Seems to have worked a treat. After sitting in the ice bath for an hour or so it brought the temperature down from ambient 32C (in the shed) to a pleasant 18C. After adding hardener and thinners (which were still at anbient) the temperature went up to around 25C.
