finally insured

Post by terryk » Tue May 24, 2011 3:37 pm

Edited InsuranceMarine-online contacted us to correct the information below that they are not and have not been associated with DG Marine, which list their association as Nautilas Marine. I have removed the link for InsuranceMarine-online.
Hi builders,
After several attempts to get our Easy 37 insured I have finally managed to find a company. They are {EDIT} and their agent in Australia is http://www.dgmarine.com.au. The contact name is Derick Warne. I can say that I paid 1/3 of what I thought I was up for. This is for fire, malicious damage, theft and builders risk,travel to the launching and sea trials etc. You fill out the application form online. DG Marine are also agents for Rolly Tasker sails and Derick provided me with a quote for my 3 sails which was substantially cheaper than my previous quotes. I have my sails already and I am quite happy with them, but he passed the quote on for my information. The online form is on DGmarine web site and they are based in Tasmania.
Cheers and happy building.

Well, i received a quote from this company some $900 cheaper than my OAMPS (Club Marine) builders risk renewal which was great. I then did a google on them and have to say that what i read has convinced me to stay with the more expensive Club Marine. Add to that the fact that the parent company Northern Reef Insurance are not registered under any of the insurance regulators around the world just adds to the risk. The links below refer to forum discussions about these guys;
