LPG detector

Wasnt sure if this should have been in plumbing.

Anyone know anything about these sorts of things:

2 things struck me about them, first off, a BEP detector including the sensor is well over $200 and if you want a solenoid switch too then double it.

These are $15 bucks delivered.

Now before you say you pay for what you get, millions of people around the world rely on $10 battery operated solid state smoke detectors, so why would these be any less efficient?

And would they satisfy insurance companies that insist lpg detectors be fitted?
