Making an Ice box

Post by RW » Tue Jul 28, 2009 4:14 am

I am wanting to make an ice box for the boat. Any suggestions from those who have?

Type of foam?

Thickness of foam?

Polyester or epoxy?

What to seal it with?

I am not putting any refrigeration in it, only ice. I will be draining it into the sink waste so that I will only have 1 hole through the hull.

Cheers

One thing suggested to me when rebuilding mine was to make sure you have an air gap between it and the side of your hull if located next to it. You would be surprised how much heat can be transfered through the hull even with the insulation.
