Is a fiddle along the bench top edges needed in an Easy catamaran?

Oh so many good lines come to mind. Got to love boat speak.
So fiddle is a lip on the edge of the bench to prevent things sliding off, correct? Cannot remember seeing any Cat with them at shows, I suspect enough angle for something to slide off the bench is only achieved on the way to a 180 degree turn. I think they are a mono thing where angles are greater and more often a fact of life. 44c has some lovely shiny benchtops, no fiddles on them.

I have fiddles on all my benches except in the galley where I thought they would be a problem when using a knife near the edge and for cleaning. None on the map table either.
They are probably not needed though.
Jim.

Have fiddles on all of mine, 1/4" high in the galley. Agree with above, may be not needed, but stops washed dishes falling off while under sail and in our case with kids, spilt dishwater (from the sinks) ending up on the carpet. Also a quick/easy way to finish the edges.

Thanks for the answers to that question. For us it will be a fiddle on all bar the navigation /office table, and possibly the main saloon table.

We don't have fiddles on anything, and don't need them. We have a flatscreen TV that just stands on it's base. Never moves. Things like the kettle stand on a mat on the bench, just makes the base a little less slippery. It never moves.

Those slow, rolling sinkers need fiddles, proper boats don't.
