Looking good your really powering on, how long has it taken to this stage? how has the kit been considering its the 1st 480? I know I had a couple of issues.

Hi Trev

Progress goes in bursts for us. I work away so have a month or two with not so much happening and then a month or so with at least 2 of us on it full timeish (if the surf is not too good!)

Got the flat panels in Oct 09 and joined all them and did bulkhead and bridge deck etc (previous to that we had built the forebeam) then moulded bits arrived in April 2010 and we started assembly in May 2010. I had to work overseas for a bit from June to Sep but we have been having a dig the last couple of months.

No real issues with the kit. A few pieces a few mm out here or there but nothing that a few mins with the jigsaw cant handle. It’s the same as the 380 really structurally so guess they had it pretty dialed. I was expecting a few being the first one but so far so good.

Dave

Plenty of room for sports on the foredeck. Table tennis table maybe??

Hi all!

Here is the end of Q1 2011 update from us. Plenty of work during Jan and Feb but March not so much… Getting well stuck into the furniture now and getting a feel for how it will all turn out.

Need to get my head around plumbing and wiring and do the bulkhead penetrations before start glassing the furniture modules into the boat.

New website looks tops guys!!

Well that’s the 2nd quarter of 2011 gone and wow that went fast. Only a handful of days spent working on the boat as had to go away for work as out of $$$ so no pic update from us.

Maybe to have more to show by end of next 3 months so keep an eye out at end of September.

Hope everyone else found more time than we did for building or sailing or anything but bloody work.......

Take it easy

Great pics! Keep up the good work :)

I'm in Launie so not too far... have to admit I do have a soft spot for the Spirited 380.

the 480 looks big in the pics. Later in the year may be able to offer some help on a weekend in return for some tips (I'm building something much smaller!) 24ft cat

Cookie

Cheers. Yeah 380's are good boats and the 480 is just a little longer, leaner and meaner so I'm hoping its going to be a great boat.

I'm through Lonnie all the time so PM us ya number and I'll give you a shoult next time and come check out what you have going on.
