Hosting Changes Done

Post by rexd666 » Mon Feb 23, 2015 8:19 pm

FYI I am in the final stages of moving the site to a new host, could be anytime in the next week or two. Any connectivity issues you might need to give it a day to fix up. Once I make a change I will ensure the old site is locked down so you will know if you end up in the wrong place.
Homepage
Minimal changes needed, just bringing the software up to date.
Forum
Major update, making the forum faster (hopefully) and lots of other fixes to the base forum software. But it is also new so might be slightly different to what you are used to and see next point as it will look different.
Look and feel, initially I will roll the style back to the default forum style (The blue one from free forum days), then make some improvements to it over time.
Mobile usage, the new style is responsive so works better on phones etc.

Any issues you can always get me by email (admin at diy-yachts.com) or PM
Thanks
Steve

Ok going to stop at this point, I think most things are ok, but let me know if I have missed anything. Will be some design changes over the next few weeks, and Homepage software needs an update, but having issues with that tonight so enough for now.

Homepage seems to be going on holiday every now and then with a 502 error. I just fixed something that might help, but if you see it shoot me a PM and I will check it out. I will see if I can put some monitoring on it. Forum seems to keep running fine all the time, so use http://diy-yachts.com/forum if you get stuck.
FYI for anyone looking for the unread link that used to be at the top of the page it is now under Quick Links menu.
