Hydraulic Steering
Re: Hydraulic Steering
I have the Hydrive pump and rams and other bits all purchased a reasonable price here in Aus. Am considering either Simrad or Raymarine.

Re: Hydraulic Steering
A question to the users who fitted (uflex) hydraulic with the semi flexible 3/8" ID nylon hose. How did you find the brass olive fitting system, did it seal easily and well (durable) and how has it worn? I had intended to have rubber reinforced hoses made to guard against chafing but cant believe the cost (about a boat unit just for 4 x 5 meter hoses). Am going with the nylon and will run it through garden hose where I fear it will rub but would appreciate any information.
Re: Hydraulic Steering
The olives have worked perfectly for me. The hose is also very resistant to chafe, I'd say much more so than garden hose, but still using garden hose to cover it in areas it might rub couldn't hurt. You can also buy braided stainless steel hose covers from car accessory shops.
